It's a skill that takes time to master, but the results are well worth the effort. Here are some tips to help you mix in the box like a pro, with big, bold sound and no clipping to hold you back.

First and foremost, let's tackle the issue of clipping. Clipping occurs when audio signals exceed the maximum amplitude that a digital system can handle, resulting in distortion and a harsh, unpleasant sound. To avoid this, keep a close eye on your meters and ensure that none of your tracks are peaking above 0 dBFS (decibels full scale).

A handy tool for preventing clipping is a gain plugin, which allows you to reduce the overall level of a track without losing any perceived loudness.
